Head Brewer
James
James joined the brewing industry back home in Australia, working for large breweries down the east coast, before looking abroad to the UK for an exciting project. Wells & Co.’s brewing legacy and pub estate, combined with the new Brewpoint brewery, was an unmissable opportunity! Outside of work, he can be found hiking mountains, swimming anywhere there’s water, or sampling a fine Scotch whisky.

Finding work as a graduate on a placement scheme with Molson Coors in Burton-on-Trent. Moving to London he then worked at Meantime Brewing Company in QA and gained over 2 years of experience as a Brewer.
Having built experience across both quality and brewing departments Barney wanted a fresh challenge in a new environment, starting as Senior Brewer with Wells & Co in March 2021.

Brewer
Sam Moss AKA Mossy
Mossy is our mad scientist with a PhD in chemistry.
His first ever brew was making alcoholic ginger beer in a 2-litre fizzy drink bottle.
Mossy's first proper brewery job was as an assistant brewer at Hand Drawn Monkey, based in Huddersfield. Afterwards doing the rounds at Round Tower Brewery and Mad Squirrel Brewery.
If you were to meet Mossy he'd tell you the best part about working in a brewery instead of a lab is that when you taste what you have made you don't get funny looks.

Brewer
Sam Till
Sam had no idea of what career path he'd take in his adult life so he did what any self-respecting graduate does - delay the inevitable and travel instead.
After working at summer camps in the US for two years and copious visits to various craft breweries, the thought of being paid to make beer seemed pretty appealing.
Initially starting out at Bowness Bay Brewing, a local cask ale brewery in the Lake District, he then joined Brewpoint in September as an Assistant Brewer.

Brewer
Jon Slate
After years of travelling the world, working and managing bars, restaurants, cafes and even a BnB, Jon realised that he didn’t like customers/people anymore and that it was ageing him like fine milk, so he decided to study so he could hide behind the mystical and magical doors between the taproom and the brewery.
